Portavera | Sphere 1 | Hills, cliffs, ports, tourist city

Portavera is a coastal port city in the isledom of Luxersom, Ancoria. Built along a sweeping natural harbor beneath jagged seaside cliffs, the city is known for its striking whitewashed architecture, vibrant tourism industry, and its role as one of the most luxurious coastal destinations in the kingdom.

The city is both a glamorous playground for the wealthy and a working coastal community rooted in maritime tradition.

Portavera is also historically significant due to the presence of Cyrersom, an enclave tied to the former Saint monarchy, whose influence continues to shape political tensions in the region.

La Terra

La Terra is home to much of the city’s working population. The town is characterized by narrow cobblestone streets and modest homes clustered around a central plaza. The plaza contains a fountain and a sun-bleached upright piano bolted to the ground, a quirky landmark often used by locals and street performers. La Terra has a strong neighborhood identity and is known for family-owned cafes and pubs, seafood stalls where fish are cooked in front of customers, and small markets and artisan shops.

Namya Heights

Namya Heights occupies the elevated cliffs and forested hills overlooking the harbor. This district is more affluent than La Terra and contains many of the city’s luxury resorts, casinos, and scenic hotels. The area is known for its dramatic views of the ocean and rugged coastline. Namya Heights serves as both a tourist hub and an upscale residential area.

Orchid Cove

Orchid Cove is a secluded and affluent suburb separated from the rest of Portavera by the Portaveran Hills and the Goliersom River. Because of this geographic isolation, many people mistakenly assume Orchid Cove belongs to Sideris Valley rather than Portavera. The district is primarily residential and contains gated estates, affluent suburban communities, and some of the country’s most prestigious primary and secondary schools. Due to its safety, wealth, and strong educational institutions, Orchid Cove is often considered one of the most desirable places in Ancoria to raise a family.

Cyrersom

Cyrersom is one of the most politically controversial areas in the country. The district was originally claimed and developed by Cyrus Saint, the final monarch of the Saint dynasty before the Sideris Revolution of 1757. During his reign, Cyrersom served as a private domain where he maintained lavish estates and housed a harem of women, becoming a symbol of the monarchy’s excess and detachment from the suffering of the population. Following the revolution, the land remained under the stewardship of the Saint clan, whose head holds the title of Conté or Contésa of Cyrersom. Although the title does not grant a seat on the Royal Council, the position still carries considerable cultural and political influence.

Cyrersom today remains an exclusive gated estate whose residents are personally selected by the Saint family. The district rarely allows public access, with one major exception: The Royal Regatta, traditionally held in Cyrersom’s ports, is one of the few occasions when the public is permitted to enter the area.
