Declare His Wonder | Wonder-Full

The heavens declare the glory of God, the dome of the sky speaks the work of His hands.

Psalm 19:1, CJB

Heaven-Full Hearts

Do the contents of your heart declare the glory of God? Do your meditations cause you to speak of the work of His hands? If we have our hearts set on heaven, how should that reflect in our words?

The Bible says that God has placed eternity in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). It says that our eternal home is heaven (2 Corinthians 5). Luke 6:45 says that we speak out what we have stored in our hearts.

If our hearts are filled with heavenly things, should we not be constantly declaring God’s glory? Our mouths should speak of the work of His hands. Is that true of your recent declarations? Do your words reflect God’s wonder?

The Wonder of Words

I like to think of myself as a wordsmith, someone whose God-given purpose is tied to words, whether spoken or written. The contents of my heart inevitably pour out of my lips. It is reflected in what I write. Is there wonder in my words? That’s certainly my desire! It is my prayer that readers will discover God’s wonder in everything I write. I even pray that I discover His wonder when I read what I write!

The last verse of Psalm 19 is one that has become the prayer of many a Christian writer.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, o Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 19:14, NKJV

Whether you are a writer or not, I think you’ve experienced how powerful words are, how it can be wielded like a weapon for both good and bad. Hopefully, we would constantly be reminded to use our words to declare wonder.

Wonder-Full Words

I pray that our hearts be filled of all the wonderful words God has spoken over us in His Word. I pray that even as we set our hearts on heaven, our words will be wonder-full as well.

May God continue to sanctify our hearts and our lips!
