Qranth is a small country located in the Atlantic Ocean. Its surrounding countries are Ancoria in the northwest, and Rossien in the southwest.
Qranth is composed of one large island surrounded by four smaller islands. It’s largest island is in the shape of a bird, which is why the nation proudly calls itself the Hawk Kingdom, also because of how the nation is populated by a unique species of hawks — the qranthi hawk — which is also considered Qranth’s national bird.

People of Qranth
The inhabitants of Ancoria are referred to collectively as Qranthi. For a long period of time, up until the1970’s, Qranth was an hermit kingdom, closing itself to trade with other countries and developing a self-sustaining nation.
For this reason, the population of Qranth is composed mostly of the Rassai people, the indigenous natives of the nation. The Rassai people are loyal to Rassa, deity or taniko of the sea. A great number of the population are Ikraros, the tribe loyal to Kraros, taniko of the land. The Ikaris are a small minority, most having fled from the country after the Second War of the Crown Imperials in 1993.
Since opening its doors to foreigners since 1977, Qranth is becoming more and more diverse.
Government of Qranth
Ancoria is part monarchy, part republic ruled by:
- A reigning monarch – the Rahkan (king) and Kajani (queen).
- An elected president, voted upon by the people ever five years. The president is meant to be the voice of the people and has equal executive power as the reigning monarch.
The government is structured this way:
- Executive: The President is Commander-in-Chief, overseeing the Royal Guard, military, police, and Qranthiars (intelligence agency).
- Legislative: The Senate (24 elected senators) drafts laws, but the King can overturn them. The Representaire (17 representatives for the 17 cities) proposes legislation.
- Judiciary: The High Court (12 judges) is the top legal body, though the King can overturn rulings.
