TOWDA Review #6
What a page-turner. Although I knew that Max and Jenna were meant to be together, the story kept throwing obstacles between them and kept me guessing about how they would get past each one.

PUSHING PAST THE PAIN — This one hit me hard. I never thought I'd be able to relate to a widowed mother the way I was able to relate to Ella's fears. Ragnar is swoon-worthy and worthy of the heroine. I was drawn to the first book in this series, because it felt like it tackled things that mattered, but this book felt deeper... Hitting home, exposing my own fears and vulnerabilities.

THE ONE WHO DANCED AWAY -- Joanna tells unflinchingly of Christians who sometimes get it wrong before they get it right, and of children and teens who are driven away from Christ because of the lack of grace and kindness they face in church. This is what happened to Jenna in The One Who Danced Away, a beautiful story of healing and redemption...

I have a HUGE crush on Max, and I when I grow up, I wanna be like Jenna! ... I also love the way Joanna speaks about art, music and dance in her work. As a musician I find it relatable, and with my husband being a dancer, he related to the way Jenna felt about dance.

The lives of Max and Jeana made one thing clear to me, God is still in the business of changing lives no matter how far or deep they've fallen.

This is a clean, Christian romance, but it is just as much a story of faith-building journeys and conversion... If you enjoy faith, romance, and a story that is not just fluff, this should be a great choice for you!

What I really love about this story is the redemptive arc.... as the story progresses, Christians, acting like Christians in all their glory and shame, shine the light of Christ... The stories are Christ honoring, without excuse.

Read the book in two sittings and found myself either in a fit of chuckles or in tears because of the characters in the book. They really made the story come to life, and I loved every minute of it.
