Harmony Hills School (HHS) | Established 1963
Sphere 14, Lumaire, Chelidon, Ancoria
Overlooking the expanse of Lumaire Valley, Harmony Hills School has served as the heart of education for the valley and its surrounding hill communities for over six decades. As a comprehensive public K–12 institution, it provides foundational and secondary education for students across the region — from the neighborhoods of Lumaire Valley to the scattered homes along Harmony Hills and Lumaire Hills.
The school’s red-brick façade, framed by dense clusters of trees and the soft curves of the surrounding landscape, stands as a familiar landmark to generations of families. Its architecture blends modern glass design elements with a sturdy, traditional layout — practical, grounded, and reflective of the community it serves.
Harmony Hills offers a full-spectrum curriculum, with small but dedicated departments in arts, sciences, and vocational training. While not extravagant in resources, the school emphasizes community-based learning, resilience, and individuality. Athletic fields double as gathering grounds for seasonal festivals, and classrooms sometimes overlook morning mist rolling over the valley — a quiet reminder of the school’s unique setting.
In a place where the pace of life is slower and the seasons leave their mark, Harmony Hills School is more than an academic institution — it’s a rite of passage, a second home, and a common thread that weaves through the lives of nearly every Lumaire local.
A note on HHS’s geography: Perched atop a hill at the northernmost area of Harmony Hills, the school is often mistaken as part of Harmony Hills instead of Lumaire Valley, especially given its name. However, an official royal proclamation in 1995 has declared the school as part of Lumaire Valley, not Harmony Hills.
Name and Location
The school was a joint project of the mayors of Lumaire and Harmony Hills as a way to provide basic education to their boroughs. The goal was to avoid the necessity of traveling to Pueroe City just to get basic education. Technically, since it’s on top of a small hill between Lumaire and Harmony Hills, it was originally named Harmony Hills School, since at the time it was being built, the hill it was on was still part of Harmony Hills. However, Lumaire citizens contested that the said hill was originally owned by the Madison clan, known to be one of the founding families of Lumaire. They donated it to the government, specifically to Lumaire. After a long dispute over the territory that delayed the school’s opening for years, King Edward Sideris ruled that Harmony Hills School will officially be under Lumaire territory and not Harmony Hills, significantly cutting the funding of Harmony Hills as a borough, and contributing to Lumaire’s development and identity as one of Ancoria’s favorite tourist towns.
