Pieve Nuit | Capital of Rossien

  • Area: 1488.77 sq. km
  • Capital: Ravelle
  • Number of Cities: 1
  • Number of Towns: 8
  • Current Ruling House: House Ravella

Pieve Nuit is the largest and most populous of the five domains of Rossien and serves as the political and administrative center of the kingdom. It is the traditional seat of the Rahkan of Rossien, who simultaneously serves as Tidelord of Pieve Nuit and presiding member of the Council of Tides.

The domain contains Ravelle, the national capital and principal city of Rossien, as well as eight surrounding towns. Ravelle itself is divided into four historic quarters: Gahlia, Silganna, Itgom, and Luna Carn.

Although Pieve Nuit functions as the closest thing Rossien has to a centralized national district, it remains governed according to the same principle of domain sovereignty that defines the rest of the kingdom. The Rahkan exercises broad authority within Pieve Nuit but cannot ordinarily extend that same authority into another Tidelord’s domain.

Pieve Nuit contains the largest concentration of royal institutions, national offices, foreign representation, financial activity, major transportation links, and Crown personnel in Rossien.

Nine Subdomains of Pieve Nuit

Ravelle

Ravelle is the capital city of Rossien and the administrative center of Pieve Nuit.

The city developed around the royal seat and older settlements that were gradually absorbed into a single urban area. Rather than eliminating the historic divisions, Ravelle retained them as four quarters, each with its own distinct character and local administration. The four quarters are: Gahlia, Silganna, Itgom, Luna Carn.

The result is characteristically Rossieno: Ravelle is legally and practically one city while preserving internal jurisdictions rooted in settlements that predate much of its modern expansion.

Gahlia

Gahlia is the governmental and diplomatic quarter of Ravelle. Located nearest to Pievelika and Pieve Hills, it contains many of the administrative institutions that support the Crown but do not operate directly within the royal estate.

The quarter is regarded as one of the most formal sections of the capital and has traditionally attracted senior officials, lawyers, diplomats, and families with longstanding connections to the Crown.

Silganna

Silganna is the commercial and financial center of Ravelle. Situated toward the eastern side of the city and connected naturally with Port Mikrael and the transportation routes leading toward Bunsam Point, Silganna serves as the principal business district of Pieve Nuit.

Silganna contains some of the most modern development in Ravelle and forms an important commercial corridor between the capital and Port Mikrael.

Itgom

Itgom is the principal residential and civic quarter of Ravelle.

The quarter includes sections of Itgom Woods, allowing large areas of forest and green space to remain integrated into the urban environment.

Itgom is generally regarded as the most representative quarter of ordinary Ravellan life and contains a broad mixture of working-class, middle-class, and long-established residential communities.

Luna Carn

Luna Carn is the historic and cultural quarter of Ravelle. Its neighborhoods contain some of the oldest surviving streets, buildings, markets, and institutions within the capital. The quarter preserves much of the city’s pre-modern and early Rossieno character.

Its narrow streets and older urban plan distinguish it from the newer commercial sections of Ravelle. Luna Carn is particularly associated with the historical memory of the capital and preserves numerous traditions, stories, and structures connected to Rossien’s pirate origins.

Pieve Hills

Pieve Hills comprises the broader royal estate surrounding Pievelika. Unlike ordinary neighborhoods of Ravelle, residency within Pieve Hills is restricted. Property and housing within the territory are generally reserved for individuals and families with significant relationships to the Crown or royal household.

The estate also contains guest residences used for visiting royalty, foreign dignitaries, and other official guests. Several private royal residences and service compounds are located throughout the hills. Persistent rumors also claim that underground military bunkers and emergency facilities exist beneath portions of Pieve Hills. Their existence and exact locations have never been publicly confirmed.

Port Mikrael

Port Mikrael is Pieve Nuit’s principal maritime trade center and one of the busiest ports in Rossien. Located east of Ravelle, the town serves as a major point of entry for cargo, passengers, commercial vessels, and inter-domain traffic.

Port Mikrael also serves as one of the primary maritime connections between Pieve Nuit and the other Rossieno domains.

The town is named for Mikrael “Rael” Ravella, the first pirate Rahkan of Rossien.

Yasa Val

Yasa Val is a predominantly residential town southwest of Ravelle. It developed around older settlements outside the capital walls and retains a quieter character than central Ravelle. The town contains a mixture of family neighborhoods, local businesses, small estates, wooded areas, and communities whose histories predate the modern expansion of the capital.

Its proximity to Ravelle makes Yasa Val a common residential choice for those who work in the capital but prefer to live outside the city proper.

Bagriton

Bagriton is one of Pieve Nuit’s principal agricultural towns. Its surrounding countryside contains farms, cultivated fields, small agricultural communities, and businesses connected to food production and distribution. Bagriton supplies a significant portion of the produce consumed within the densely populated capital region.

Despite its proximity to Ravelle, the town retains a strongly rural character in many areas.

Don Namya

Don Namya is a prosperous residential town located along Pieve Nuit’s southern coast. Known for its quieter neighborhoods, wooded estates, and coastal properties, it has traditionally attracted wealthy families, successful professionals, and those seeking privacy outside Ravelle.

Although affluent, Don Namya is socially distinct from Pieve Hills. Wealth alone does not grant access to the Crown-controlled royal estate, making Don Namya a more conventional center of private wealth.

Nabe Bay

Nabe Bay occupies the northern peninsula of Pieve Nuit and developed around its protected coastal waters.

Its physical separation from central Pieve Nuit has allowed Nabe Bay to retain a particularly strong local identity. The town also contains several small ports and piers serving northern maritime traffic.

Perinaral

Perinaral is an institutional and educational center southeast of Ravelle. Its proximity to the capital allows it to host institutions that require access to Ravelle without occupying the denser urban core.

The town has a comparatively educated and professional population and serves as one of Rossien’s major centers of higher learning.

Bunsam Point

Bunsam Point is Pieve Nuit’s principal aviation and transportation town. It contains the domain’s airport, which serves Ravelle and functions as Rossien’s primary international and inter-domain air gateway. The town also contains:

Because of its strategic location and proximity to both Ravelle and Port Mikrael, Bunsam Point plays an important role in the movement of people and goods through Pieve Nuit.

Old Nuit

Old Nuit is one of the oldest continuously inhabited areas of Pieve Nuit and preserves much of the domain’s early Rossieno history. The town contains ruins, fortifications, monuments, burial grounds, and surviving structures associated with the pirate settlement that preceded the modern kingdom.

Old Nuit is strongly connected to the traditional history of Pieve Nuit and to legends surrounding the original division of Rossien among its five founding Tidelords. Its historic sites attract visitors, historians, and Rossienos interested in the kingdom’s early past.

Despite tourism and preservation efforts, portions of Old Nuit remain ordinary residential communities whose families have lived in the area for generations.
